Group Info

Kikai is an anime inspired art group local only to Idaho, that meets in the Boise area. While we enjoy the Japanese form of animation, 'anime', there are other elements found in what we design. These can range from cartoons, zombie game illustrations, to Monet, etc! Drawing is fun, and next to further development, is the base Kikai,{Chance; Opportunity in Japanese}, 'draws' upon! Started in the year 2006.

Tutorials!

Tue Jan 26, 2010, 8:00 PM by ~Mad--Hatter:iconMad--Hatter:
This Blog is a list and review of many tutorials and helpful information for you, the members of Kikai, to use and help fine tune your skillz!

1. [link] <---Longer tutorial

Here is a tutorial that is centered mostly around using and perfecting the popular Copic Markers. It is extremely detailed and answers many questions you might have of how to use them in a beautiful softer fashion. :iconcartoongirl7: is the creator of this fantastic tutorial, and even covers a little more than just the Copic Markers. She explains about the sketching process beforehand and also elaborates on the inking stage!

Overall this is a great tutorial, only thing I would warn you about is that it is full of so much information, and is so detailed that it might take a while just to get through the whole tutorial. So if you are looking for a shorter tutorial you might go for :iconcartoongirl7:'s other Copic Markers tutorial that is equally awesome, just not so in-depth. Enjoy!

2. [link] <--- Shorter tutorial

====================================================================
Here is a tutorial made by :iconkeysha-chan: that focuses on using (traditional) mixed media!

[link]

It explores the use of graphite lead, regular pencils, colored pencils, Inking pens, multiple kinds of markers, paint, and watercolor! For a list of exactly what the artist used just read their comments below the tutorial. There are so many tips and helpful hints in this tutorial, but since it has such a broad range of materials it does not have a ton of info on them all. I would say it focuses on the markers most because that media is used the most in this picture. Something I find very helpful in this particular tutorial is all of the advise :iconkeysha-chan: gives on creating backgrounds and foregrounds. Everything in this tutorial can be easily used in making an Anime picture!

If I had a dollar for everytime I've seen someone fall off my roof I'd have $24.50

If I see dead people does that make me insane or does this make it dawn of the dead?
